本種は台湾のイネ科から記載された。関東地方から鹿児島まで広く分布し、香港からも記録されている。寄主植物はイネ科でPhibalothrips peringueyiと共にチヂミザサに普通に見られる。

This species was described from Poaceae of Taiwan. It is widely distribued in Kanto-region to Kagoshima and is also recorded from Hong-kong. Their host plant is Poaceae and it is common on Oplismenus undulatifolius together with Phibalothrips peringueyi.
